The Story of Hidden Treasures

My first encounter with Chinese furniture and art pieces was with my father’s collection during the 1980’s when I was still in school. For a naive student at that age, these collections seemed like “rubbish.” I did not understand why my dad kept buying them. It was not until I had frequent exposure to the collections that I started to see the beauty in the pieces that my dad had collected. I began to see that pieces of Chinese art do not necessarily look overly ornate or “obiang” if they are well mixed and placed amongst the modern pieces of furniture.

After obtaining a business degree, I aspired to do something on my own in the field I loved. In December of 1999, Hidden Treasures was officially born. Since going into this business, I must say that I have found what I truly wanted to do. I find great inner drive and satisfaction in fulfilling the needs of each customer. After these few years, I am happy to say that many customers from many different parts of the world have become my friends.

At Hidden Treasures, quality and uniqueness of each product has always been the main focus of the business. Every effort has been put into maintaining this product focus in each and every purchasing trip made.

Service excellence is the other focus of our business as we at Hidden Treasures serve our customers from our heart. If a customer has a request for a specific product, every effort is made to find just the right piece. When a new piece is requested, our focus is on tailoring the piece to the customers’ specifications and working with the manufacturer to have a quality piece made.

Hidden Treasures specializes in old and unique fine pieces of Chinese furniture. Specialties include old wooden window panels, door panels, bed frames, and wooden screens tailored to specific measurements. We also carry buddhist art, lacquered wares from Mynamar as well as many other curios from many villages of Mainland China. Curios include porcelain, embroideries, paintings, leather boxes, food containers, wedding baskets, carving panels, wooden money boxes and much more.

Those who have found Hidden Treasures, whether by sheer hard work or by luck, always agree that it is a place where real treasures can be found. So do make a trip to Hidden Treasures to discover for yourself that it is indeed a place that you are glad to have found.
